See, she filed a consumer complaint form, a form you'd fill out if you bought something from a business.  Something's Happening In Technology isn't a business.  I can't offer her a refund, store credit, or anything else of value.  I've stated as much to the Attorney General's office.  I haven't heard back from them yet, hopefully because they realize that this website isn't selling a product and is protected by the First Amendment (that's freedom of speech for all you salon owners out there). She wrote back and said that she wasnt going to give me my hard earned money that I earned because she held a grudge against me. I had a very good reason to quit. But no matter what the reason was, legally she has to pay me. How can someone be so heartless as to not pay her employees the money she owes. I only got less than minimum wage anyway.&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;  Judy expected her workers to go out and market themselves which everyone should do anyway but heres the thing...she would call us out of work and tell us to go market without pay and if we didnt we got in trouble. But it gets better...She hired 2 "marketers" one full-time and one part-time. So she pays them to market us and not once did the "marketers" go out and market. I was expected to market with no pay but she can pay a "marketer" Full-time to sit inside and not even market. So heres my advice to her...You need service providers before you hire a "marketer". whats there to market if you dont have anybody to even do the service.&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'd really like to thank whoever posted these comments. We aren't above correcting ourselves when we're wrong.  Judy doesn't fire all of her employees, some of them quit because of the crazy.  We ran into a former employee over the weekend, and her quitting story is too good not to share.  According to the former employee, Judy has a nasty habit of firing people for three hours.  This employee didn't want to deal with that, so she left a resignation letter on Judy's desk, then walked out.  She got a phone call from Judy later on in the weekend, saying she wouldn't accept her resignation.  I've never heard of such a thing from an employer before.  I mean, what's she going to do, send the mob out to drag employees who have quit in to work?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But, don't let the fact that some people don't get fired fool you about Evolution's astronomical turn over rate.  The entire staff has turned over since December '08.  That's a whole new staff in about 5 months. She's even contacted the Missouri Attorney Generals office in an attempt to get some of them taken down.&lt;br /&gt;Now, we take pride here in giving helpful advice to our loyal readers; so, here is my humble advice to Judy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.  If you don't like posts about firing employees on Christmas Eve, don't fire employees on Christmas Eve.  Fire them before, fire them after, it dosen't matter.  That kind of publicity is never good.&lt;br /&gt;2.  If you don't like posts about your high turnover rate, you should really try to retain your employees.  Maybe give employees more than five weeks to prove themselves before firing them.  Most companies give people at least a six month trial.  Constantly investing in new employees is an expensive endeavour.&lt;br /&gt;3. Maybe you don't have great managing talent.  That's ok, some people don't.  Maybe you could try hiring a personell manager.  Oh...fail.&lt;br /&gt;5. Finally, if you don't want to have a huge pool of people ready to voice negative opinions of you online, you shouldn't try to lure people away from stable employment to come work for you, then fire them after five weeks. I'd really like to build a relationship with my stylist, but it is impossible due to the high turnover at this salon. I kind of liked the last girl that I had there, I think her name was Holly. It was pretty easy since Judy Manes has gone through approximately 65 employees in 7 years.  (That's a 200% turnover rate for those of you who think "dued to" is a phrase)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We asked this stylist her reason for leaving.  Allegedly, Judy is all about high pressure sales.  She doesn't care about selling you products that will actually help you, she's just interested in selling you crap.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, if you are a client at Evolutions, I'd be sure to be suspect of anything a stylist tries to sell you.  Chances are you don't really need it. We really pride ourselves in putting the crappiest of the crappy on this list. So, it is with much fanfare we add our newest king of the SHIT List: Evolutions Salon and Day Spa.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We think that Evolutions is such a crappy business, they deserve their own page here at Somethings Happening In Technology.  We'll use this page to track all of the crap we can dig up about Evolutions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But first...the rest of the original post crowning Evolutions the top of the SHIT list pile:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'd provide a link to this testament to crappiness, but the incompetent bitch who runs the business was too stupid to renew her domain name, so it would just point you to a cybersquatting ad site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The owner of this establishment seems to have a problem keeping pregnant women employed. To be fair, she has a problem keeping anyone employed, and has an unbelievable turnover rate. Of course, I would imagine it is hard to keep employees when you talk down to them, treat them like they are stupid, and generally wrap yourself in your sanctimonious cloak of superiority.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That superiority would be easier to take if the owner wasn't one of the dumbest people on the face of the earth.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Example A:&lt;br /&gt;A letter that states "Dued to the fact..." blah, blah, blah.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Example B:&lt;br /&gt;Refusing to pay employees on time, even when mandated by state law.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And don't even get me started on the potential false advertising. The owner appears to have a penchant for selling gift certificates for massages when she can't keep a massage therapist. (Surprise, surprise.) If someone were to complain about this, she makes it overly hard to get your money back.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, welcome to your new throne Judy Manes of Evolutions Salon and Day Spa.
